For this popular workshop, we will be prioritising ticket sales to our Waikato Society of Potters members. Sales will open to members only from Thursday 5th February, 10am. Sales will then be open to non-members from Thursday 12th February, 10am.
We are delighted to bring you this 2-day, weekend workshop with internationally acclaimed potter, Rick Rudd MNZM.
Saturday 2nd May, 10am - 4pm AND Sunday 3rd May, 10am - 4pm
Instantly recognisable, Rick Rudd's ceramic creations are a wonder to behold. They combine form and function to the point where the dramatically sculptural designs often mask the functional purpose of the piece. They offer the observer a mystery to be solved.
Over the course of two days, Rick will guide you in building your own teapot in his style, and learning techniques that can be used in your own hand-building practice.
The course fee includes:
- Your tuition
- A bag of clay
- Bisque firing
- Glaze firing
- A list of required tools will be sent to participants prior to the workshop
- Please bring a kai to share on both days, if you are able
** Please note the clay we will be using has a specific firing temperature, and all pieces made with it should be fired to a lower temperature than WSP's standard cone 6 and cone 10 firings. We will organise a full kiln load for pieces made at the workshop, in order to avoid any firing mishaps.
