Wellington’s Miles Calder announces a nationwide tour this coming April and May in celebration of his debut solo album Autopilot Life, out today. The massive, ten-date tour will take Miles and his band around the country to perform their psychedelic-folk tunes to ten lucky towns from Dunedin to hometown venue Meow in Wellington. Backed by an electrifying new band, featuring long term collaborators Nick George (drums) and Steve Moodie (bass), and Chris Armour (electric guitar) and Dayle Jellyman (synths, electric piano), these psych-tinged textures of cascading synths, atmospheric noise, and searing guitar solos, amplify Miles songs and compelling vocals to new levels of lush, hypnotic production.
Singer/songwriter Miles Calder delivers cutting lyrics with an expressive voice. His self reflective songs move from understated folk-rock to swirling psychedelia, evoking early 70s Lennon as much as contemporaries like Kevin Morby or Father John Misty.
