Your Tutors

Larissa Milsum loves simple, functional forms and has a particular interest in incorporating elements of the natural environment into her pots. This involves adding found materials to clay bodies and glazes. Larissa has an arts degree and a range of experience working in a production studio, and doing residencies at Driving Creek and the Waikato Society of Potters.

Mark Tamura is a first generation New Zealander who grew up in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges in West Auckland, not too far from the New Lynn clay pits.

Mark was introduced to the world of ceramics through evening wheel throwing classes at WSP where he went on to be a resident artist and has now established his own home studio. Mark’s  practice focuses on functional wheel-thrown wares that bring a little something extra to our daily rituals, meals with family and friends, or that freshly brewed morning cuppa. Mark also enjoys experimenting with wild clay and giving people the opportunity to bring some of their whenua into their homes for daily use or special occasions.
