Donate to the Tongan relief fund for rebuilding homes and communities on the affected islands.

Please donate! Help with restoration of villages and livelihoods in those communities in Tonga displaced or badly affected by the recent volcanic eruption and tsunami.

CURRENT SITUATION

At least 2,390 people (2.4 per cent of the country’s population) or 465 households were displaced. The homes of 60 per cent of those households have been severely damaged or destroyed.
Of the 465 households, 54 per cent are in the main island Tongatapu, 31 per cent in Ha’apai Island group, and 15 per cent in ‘Eua;
Immediate water and food needs are being met by partner governments

Reconstruction of villages wiped out by the tsunami and help with livelihoods will be urgent but have complex priorities

All donations less only bank and credit cards fees for collection will be for the direct benefit of the Tongan communities. RNZWCS - Rotary New Zealand World Community Service will oversee delivery, monitoring and accounting for the funds raised and work with agencies in Tonga to best meet the needs of the local communities.
