The inaugural Humminbird Omaha Fishing Tournament has been created with a vital aim – to raise needed funds for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, while hosting an exhilarating 7-day measure only competition.
Open to all, we are offering friends and families, what can only be described as an action-packed experience – both on and off the water.
Easter 2021 marks the start of a fishing tournament with a difference…. spend 7 days on the water fishing with your crew in a new and sustainable manner (using the ‘catch and release’ technique). Then at the end of the week come along to our prize giving celebration at the Omaha Golf Course; to be in with a chance to win over 100K worth of prizes, dance to live music, have a few drinks at the bar, take part in our highly anticipated charity auction and get a rare look inside one of the charities helicopters!
On April 10th we are excited to announce one of our rescue crews will also be there teaching your dearest & nearest water safety skills including resuscitation, the importance of wearing floatation devices, search and rescue techniques and educating us on some of the life-saving rescues they have attended in the local Omaha area.
We believe that it is our responsibility to teach the next generation how to combine water safety skills and the importance of fishing sustainably.
