Where  The Kollective - The Classroom, 145 Seventeenth Avenue, Tauranga View Map

A five-part workshop series offering practical support to organisations navigating the changing funding environment. This series provides a unique opportunity for leaders to step back, reassess their current path, and create a considered plan for moving forward. Facilitated by experienced professionals in the sector, leaders will gain the tools and confidence to guide their teams through change and foster a positive, proactive approach to the future.

The outline of the sessions is below:

Session 1: Taking a Strengths-based approach to change

Wednesday 23 July 2025, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Facilitated by: Jo Weise (The Wheelhouse)

A session focused on maximising what you have, developing it, and knowing when to partner up, outsource or combine your strengths for better outcomes.

Session 2: Revisiting your “Why”

Wednesday 6 August 2025, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Facilitated by: Megan Thorn (Exult)

Often, an organisation's programme delivery is based around funding rather than the original vision of the organisation. This session is a chance to check back on why your organisation was founded. Is that still relevant and is your current service / programme delivery helping to achieve that? We work through this by looking at the following:

  • Vision / Mission
  • Do current programmes help to deliver on your vision / mission
  • What would programmes look like to achieve vision / mission
  • Possible collaborations
  • Merges

Session 3: Knowing your options and finances

Wednesday 20 August 2025, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Facilitated by: Tracy Stockman & Megan Thorn

Now that you know what programmes you want to deliver, let’s look at what resources you currently have, how much it will cost to deliver, what you want to do and where the funds will come from? This session will cover:

  • Your current financial position
  • Preparing a budget for the future
  • Possible funding avenues
  • Developing a plan to move forward

Session 4: Navigating HR

Wednesday 3 September 2025, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Facilitated by: Lindsey Rayner (Humanex)

Do you have the right sized team and people in the right positions to move forward? How do you navigate these discussions and get the processes right from a legislative perspective while maintaining good relationships? The session will cover:

  • Different scenarios and the steps to be taken
  • What checks and balances need to be in place
  • Where to go for additional support if needed
  • Where to next ...

Session 5: Where to Next: A Way forward

Wednesday 17 September 2025, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Facilitated by: Tracy Stockman & Guests

In this final session, we will focus on turning the insights and changes identified throughout the workshop series into actionable steps. Leaders will work through a step-by-step plan for implementing these changes, including strategies for gaining team buy-in. We’ll also explore case studies from leaders who have navigated successful restructures. Facilitators from earlier sessions will join us online to offer further guidance and support for part of this workshop.
