Taking Back our Beach is a 90-minute feature film that celebrates the Bay of Plenty's incredible response to New Zealand’s largest environmental disaster - the Rena grounding on Astrolabe Reef/Otaiti, on October 5, 2011.

The Bay of Plenty premiere of 'Taking Back Our Beach' is being held at United Cinemas Bayfair on October 5, 2023, the 12th anniversary of the disaster.
We encourage everyone attending the red carpet premiere to don some glam gear and enjoy an evening out.
