Terms and Conditions of Submissions

​​​​​Please register no later than Friday 5th May 2023, with the appropriate artwork list  

  • Delivery of works: Saturday 6th, Monday the 8th to Thursday 11th May 2023

  • Exhibition opens to the public at a 'Friday Threesome" launch event across our three galleries on Friday 12th at 5.30pm. Then on display during normal gallery hours. 

  • Exhibition runs until Saturday 10th June

  • Your entry will not be accepted without full payment of your entry fee - $45 per installation/collection of brooches

  • Collection of unsold work will be from Monday 12th June and must be collected by Wed 14th June, unless by prior arrangement or the works will be donated to charity.

  • The Incubator kaupapa is to encourage artists to volunteer to be on the roster for the weekend open days. This can be together or as an individual. A schedule will be shared with all selected artists.

  • Artists are encouraged to attend the opening and are welcome to bring along guests. Artists are also encouraged to share the invitation on social media and to bring a plate for the refreshment table.

Artwork Criteria:

  • Minimum 8 works

  • Artwork must be able to be fixable to clothing using suitable good quality hardware.

  • Artworks must not be unaltered fabricated pins ordered form an external stockist.  You may however fix, alter or produce original art work on these substrates.

  • All works must be for sale.

  • All individual collections of brooches or pins must be creatively displayed on a single structure ready for a safe, secure and steady presentation on a wall or plinth.

  • Every entry of a collection of brooches must have an artwork list with description and retail price  - This form is available to download on our website.click here -  website page

  • All works must remain in the exhibition for the entire period of the show.
  • Sold works to be collected by the purchaser and unsold works to be collected by the artist, or a designated courier pre-paid for by the artist.  Any queries related to delivery and collection of works must be arranged prior to the opening of the exhibition - please contact exhibitions@theincubator.co.nz
  • Insurance for artwork while in transit and for the duration of the show is the sole responsibility of the artist.

Conditions of sale of work

  • The retail sale price must include GST and The Incubators commission. A commission of 25% plus GST on the commission will be retained for works sold during the exhibition.
  • Payment to the artist of sold works will occur on the 20th of the month following the exhibition closing.

Copyright/images:

Every endeavour will be made to protect copyright, provided the artist submits relevant caption and credit details. Any work received into the exhibition may be used for promotional purposes by The Incubator Creative Hub and photography for non-commercial use will be permitted in the galleryless
