DESCRIPTION:SUITABLE FOR RECENT BEGINNERS AND RETURNING STUDENTS WHO KNOW THE\nBASICS OF HANDBUILDING\n\n \n\nIn this 2-day workshop you will hand build and sculpt an animal (cat,\ndog, lion etc.) from start to bisque stage. You will learn building\ntechniques, how to form the body shape, proportions and positioning of\nfeatures, hollowing and more. If you wish to sculpt a pet, please\nbring some reference photos.\n\n10 KG OF MACS MUD WHITESTONE IS INCLUDED.\n\n** Firing is an extra cost\n\nYOU WILL NEED TO BRING\nTools: serrated kidney, hollowing hoop tools, sponge, soft\ncloth/flannel, soft and hard old art paintbrushes, mirror, old\nt-shirt. I discovered the\nwonders of clay in my teens, doing holiday ceramic lessons and from\nthere became hooked. I studied ceramics at the KZN Technikon in SA and\nthen had the good fortune to be tutored by “Garth Hoets” for 2\nyears. From there it has turned into a passion bordering on obsession!\nPortrait sculpture is my ongoing addictive challenge, trying to\ncapture the essence of a person, that particular something that makes\nthem “real”. I also enjoy whimsical characters where there is\nfreedom for imagination and the child within. It’s still\nexciting…. A full refund will be given if the class is\ncancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels\ntheir enrolment within 72 hours of the workshop starting, no refund\nwill be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days\nprior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from\nthe refund.
