DESCRIPTION:MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS WELCOME.\n\nIf you haven't been part of a raku firing before, they are fun,\ndramatic, and yield unpredictable but breathtaking results.\n\nGet involved with handling glowing things! Our raku expert, David,\nwill run this event providing our members with an opportunity to fire\na few items.\n\n \n\nTIME: 10AM - 1PM\n\n \n\n9am - Glazing (if you haven't already glazed, but please try to do\nthis before Saturday) \n\n9.30am - Kiln set up \n\n9.30am - Briefing and firing begins\n\n \n\nBRING:\n\nBring bisque fired work that is thin and even. Small stuff survives\nwhile bigger things benefit from a good Raku clay (please check at\nWSP if unsure).  Pieces under 180mm. Raku glazes are labelled and in\nkiln room for use. Areas left unglazed will be blacks and greys.\nGlossy copper gives best results on its own (no glaze under or over).\nDark colours don't show the crackle as well. Bigger, smooth areas are\nmore likely to crackle.  Raku glazes will damage other kilns so glaze\npieces to be stored in area designated by Larissa. IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE\nTRY TO DO YOUR GLAZING BEFORE THE DAY SO IT IS DRY AND WE CAN START\nFIRING STRAIGHT AWAY.\n\nCOSTS:\n\nThere will be a $10 fee for members and $14 for non-members,\nthat also covers your Open Studio session for the morning.
