DESCRIPTION:MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS WELCOME.\n\nIf you haven't been part of a raku firing before, they are fun,\ndramatic, and yield unpredictable but breathtaking results.\n\nGet involved with handling glowing things! Our raku expert, David,\nwill run this event providing our members with an opportunity to fire\na few items.\n\n \n\nTIME: 6PM\n\n \n\nKiln set up - 5.30pm\n\nBriefing and firing from - 6pm\n\n \n\nBRING:\n\nBring bisque fired work that is thin and even. Small stuff survives\nwhile bigger things benefit from a good Raku clay.  Pieces under\n180mm. Raku glazes are labelled and in kiln room for use. Areas left\nunglazed will be blacks and greys. Glossy copper gives best results\non its own (no glaze under or over). Dark colours don't show the\ncrackle as well. Bigger, smooth areas are more likely to crackle. \nRaku glazes will damage other kilns so glaze pieces to be stored in\narea designated by Larissa. Some glazing can be done on the day but\nhopefully most will be done before so it is dry and we can start\nfiring straight away.\n\n \n\nCOSTS:\n\nThere will be a $10 fee for members and $14 for non-members,\nthat also covers your Open Studio session for the evening.
