DESCRIPTION:[Rongoa]\n\nIn this workshop participants will have the opportunity to develop\nboth watercolour pencil and portrait drawing techniques to encapsulate\nboth the subjects and their own unique characteristics.\n\nProfessional watercolourist and portrait artist Helen English will\nguide participants through the various stages of portraiture through\nvarious observational techniques and practical applications, focusing\non:\n\n 	*\nUnderstanding facial proportions and skeletal structure.\n\n 	*\nUtilising different techniques to determine individual proportions.\n\n 	*\nHow to create three dimensional artworks using light and shade.\n\n 	*\nProgression of portrait using watercolour pencils.\n\n 	*\nHow pencils differ from traditional watercolour, and the range of what\ncan be achieved with them.\n\n 	*\nUsing both pencil and watercolour pencil to create realism or a\nstylised portrait.\n\nTutor: Helen English\nDate: Saturday, 9th July 2022\nTime: 10am – 4pm\nWhere: The Artery\nPrice: $120\n\nAll materials supplied, as well as tea coffee and nibbles.\n\nOpen to all levels of experience, ages 18 and over (unless accompanied\nby adult).\n\n‘Drawing people, from my imagination and life, has been a constant\nsince I was very young. I spent my childhood constantly drawing in\nwhatever medium I could get my hands on. I began painting in my late\n20s, starting with acrylic and oils, however when I discovered\nwatercolour, in later years, it really felt like I'd found home! It's\nan amazing medium - so delicate by itself but so easy to add depth to\nwith ink or watercolour pencil techniques.
