DESCRIPTION:The Incubator Creative Hub and Copyright Licensing NZ present:\nFor all creative from all disciplines...\n\nOne of the challenges we creative people face is that common knowledge\nof copyright is sometimes at variance with the actual law, leading to\nmisunderstandings, infringements, and confusion.\n\nLet's talk about knowing and protecting our rights, why they exist and\nthe cultural and financial value of our work and rights. In this\nsession, funded by Manatū Taonga Ministry of Culture and Heritage,\nand presented by Copyright Licensing New Zealand (CLNZ), Karen Workman\nwill be giving us an overview of our rights as creators, to build on\nour understanding and guide in strengthening business practices.\n\nLet's demystify the Copyright Act, and learn how to "do the right\nthing" as we sharpen our business acumen and build a stronger creative\nplatform.\n\nTutor: Karen Workman\nDate: Friday, 22nd April\nTime: 6.30 – 8.30pm\nFREE\n\nSpaces are limited, so bookings are essential.\n\nKaren Workman, is visiting us from Copyright Licensing NZ. She has a\nB.C.A. in Marketing and Management and a B Mus (Hons) in Piano from\nVictoria University of Wellington, Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano\nperformance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Ohio, USA, and her\ncertificate from the life of hard knocks by working with parents of\nchild actors in Hollywood for 8 years. Karen also speaks regularly at\nvarious talent showcases in the USA, and has developed several\ncurriculums for film programmes and training for young actors.
