DESCRIPTION:FOUNDATIONS OF THE HEAD AND NECK\n\nSculpting the Head, face and neck in clay through the fundamental\nunderstanding of basic simplified anatomy, proportions and elements to\nrecreate a human head figure.\nThe understanding of an average human head constitution and\nproportions, makes possible to build a strong base, a step by step\nmethodology as a foundational guidance to catch the subtleties of a\nportrait next.\n\nJavier has often witnessed students in his other workshops running\ninto trouble sculpting heads and faces. The eyes may be bigger than\nthey should; ears are fixed in unrealistic places. That’s why he\ncreated Head Studies. In these classes, students cover face, head and\nneck construction.\n\nDespite the emphasis on structure, these workshops are less technical\nthan the Russian approach to figure. The students use divisions and\nplanes to help them build the head from scratch, however the aim is to\npresent the visage in an organic rather than geometrical style. Like\nSimplified Figure, we approach the face – especially the soft tissue\n– in a sketch-like fashion. \n\nFind out more about the 3 day workshop..\n[https://www.eventspronto.co.nz/vdb/document/493]\n\nJavier Murcia [https://javiermurcia.com/about] is an artist with more\nthan 20 years of experience in the art and the entertainment industry.\nTrained as a figurative sculptor with a particular interest in\nanatomy, he has developed a style that plays with the form and the\ndrama in the intention of capturing the soul on his work.\n - manager@waikatopotters.co.nz - https://www.eventspronto.co.nz/event5641
