Tap into your creative side and make\none-off pieces of art, embellish clothing with images and symbols\nunique to you, or make beautiful gifts for your friends._\n\nIn this workshop, Jo Dixey will teach you how to create your own\nembroidered patch. Learn the best stitches to use to embroider a\nword, image or combination of the two! You will learn the skills to\nattach your one-of-a-kind patch to personalise an item of clothing\nor bag. \n\nWhile you're at the workshop, check out Jo’s exhibition "FRAGMENTS",\nfeaturing hand embroideries created from naturally dyed fabric and\nthreads as part of the New Zealand Embroideries Guild conference. _ _\n\nABOUT THE ARTIST:\n\nJO DIXEY is a Royal School of Needlework trained embroiderer. She\nteaches small groups a variety of embroidery techniques and works on\ncommissions which have included large altar cloths, university banners\nand work for the fashion and movie industries. She also repairs old\nembroideries. In 2017 Jo published her first book _Stitch People_,\nwhich was later re-released as _Creative Thread_.
