DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Arts for Health Annual Art Competition and Exhibition,\nour major fundraising event for the year. Your entry helps to support\nlocal artists to access the arts in Hamilton.\nThe prize money of $1,000 for the winning entry is considered to be\nthe purchase price of the artwork and becomes part of the Arts for\nHealth Community Trust Art Collection.\nYouth Section - 14 years and under, prize of $50.\nSeniors - 65 years and over, prize of $150, thanks to Age Concern for\nsponsorship\nThe Important Stuff:\nAll artwork must be for sale\nEntries must be online and will be accepted until Wednesday 27th July\n2022\nEntry Fee: $30 per entry\nEnter and pay online here:\nhttps://www.eventspronto.co.nz/artsforhealth\nOpening night & announcement of winners: Please join us on Thursday\n4th August between 5:30 -7pm for drinks and nibbles to celebrate your\nachievements.\nExhibition hours and dates: 10am -5pm every day between 5th\nAugust -4th September 2022\nArtwork drop off & pick up: Please drop off your artwork on Wednesday\n3rd August between 10am – 12 noon at Artspost, 120 Victoria St,\nHamilton\nSold works: If your work is sold, we will let you know by Monday 1st\nAugust. Artspost processes payments to Arts for Health on 20th\nSeptember. Arts for Health will pay you as soon as practicable after\nthis date.\nUnsold works: Please arrange for unsold work to be collected on\nTuesday 6th September between 10am -12 noon at Artspost. If work is\nnot collected within two weeks, the work will become the property of\nArts for Health and may be sold for the benefit of Arts for Health.\nThe Artwork\nSubject: Is of the artist’s choice.\nOriginal work: Must be the artist’s own unaided original work and\nnot reproduced from another work.\nMediums: 2D or 3D artwork of choice\nSizes: 2D work limited to 910mm x 610mm maximum or equivalent overall\nmeasurement.\n3D work to be no more than 300mm x 300mm x 300mm.\nPhotography & computer generated: These entries are not permitted.\nEntry form: All artworks must be submitted with an entry form.\nArtist’s details: Please label the back of your work with your name,\ntitle, medium, sale price and entry number.\n(Entry number is computer generated and sent after your application is\nsubmitted).\nSigned: All work should be signed where practicable.\nMultiple entries: Are permitted.\nHanging: All 2D work must be ready for hanging with ‘D’ hooks\nattached. Work not prepared for hanging will not be exhibited.\nWorks in two or more parts (diptych) must be clearly marked in the\norder they are to be hung and priced as one artwork.\nLate or wet work: Will not be accepted.\nCommission: 40% (Artspost 25%, Arts for Health 15%). Sale price to be\nset by the artist.\nCopyright: With the exception of the winning work, copyright of all\nartwork remains with the artist. However, by entering the competition,\nartists agree to allow Arts for Health Community Trust limited\ncopyright, free of royalties, to publish images of the entered art\nworks on websites and social media, catalogues, publicity material and\nnews media.\nCopyright of the winning entry will transfer with ownership to Arts\nfor Health.\nInsurance: Is the responsibility of the artists.\nCourier: The cost of any courier to return artwork is the\nresponsibility of the artist.\nWinning piece: The winning piece may be used for display purposes,\npromotion work or any other purpose, including sale, at the discretion\nof Arts for Health.
