Your\nattendance is vital to our conference and to our future.  \n\nMihinui to those who are providing their expertise, mana and time to\nthe success of this conference, in the spirit of service.  \n\nClick here to see the conference flyer\n[https://www.eventspronto.co.nz/vdb/document/491].\n\nCONFERENCE FORMAT\n\nFRIDAY 8TH-9TH APRIL 2022, 6-8PM\n\nJoin us on Friday night for a virtual cocktail party hosted by DG Mark\nWheeler and Hon Grant Robertson, for an opportunity to see old friends\nand share a drink (BYO!) as we hear from our honoured guests. \nFollowing that there will be a friendly competition between three\n'contestants', including:\n\n 	*\n_Hon Grant Robertson, _Deputy Prime Minister and MP for Wellington\nCentral, honorary member of the Rotary Club of Wellington. Grant’s\nbelief in social justice and a desire to see every New Zealander able\nto achieve their potential led him to politics, he has been the\nMember of Parliament for Wellington Central since 2008.\n\n 	*\n_Sir Anand Satyanand: _Former Governor-General, Sir Anand Satyanand\nremains a well known contributor to a number of community activities\nin addition to formal roles. He is currently Chancellor of the\nUniversity of Waikato and President of the Institute of International\nAffairs. He has maintained a long term connection with the Rotary Club\nof Wellington since the mid 1990s.\n\n 	*\n_Anna Fifield, _Editor of the Dominion Post since 2020, New Zealand's\ncapital city newspaper; Author of "The Great Successor" about Kim\nJong Un.  Anna was a foreign correspondent for the Washington Post\n2014-20, serving as bureau chief in Beijing and Tokyo. She previously\nworked for the Financial Times for 13 years, reporting from countries\nincluding Iran, Syria, North Korea and the United States.\n\nEach will speak on a person they admire due to their community\nservice in New Zealand or overseas. You will have the opportunity to\ntake part by voting for a nominated charity that each panellist\nidentifies.  Your vote will result in a monetary donation being made\nto the charity.  Guaranteed inspiration and entertainment.\n\nSATURDAY 9TH APRIL 2022, 9AM-12.30PM\n\nA time to connect and discuss how we build a shared vision for Rotary\nin our District. \n\nAt the first plenary session we will hear from our District Governor,\nfrom a Rotary International rep, and from our inspiring plenary\nspeaker (soon to be confirmed).\n\nFollowing the opening plenary you will then attend two breakout\nsessions which you choose when you register.   They will be\ninformative & inspiring. Whether it is membership or service in the\ncommunity, or fellowship or diversity and inclusion, there will be\nsomething for everyone to learn, and be inspired.  These sessions\nwill be introduced and facilitated by guests from across community,\ngovernment, non-profit, and our own District Clubs.  \n\n SATURDAY 9TH APRIL, MORNING BREAKOUT SESSIONS \n 		Breakout Session\n 		Choice 1\n 		OR\n 		Choice 2\n\n 		10.00-10.40\n 		MEMBERSHIP: Shaping our future - how to attract and retain\nmembers  \n 		OR\n 		SERVICE AND THE COMMUNITY: Shaping our future, how we engage with\ncommunity service\n\n 		 \n 		 \n 		 \n 		 \n\n 		10.50-11.30\n 		FELLOWSHIP AND THE POWER OF THE COLLECTIVE: Shaping our future\ntogether through harnessing the power of the collective\n 		OR\n\nDIVERSITY & INCLUSION: Bringing broader perspectives to reflect the\nrange of views and interests across our broader community and better\nachieve Rotary's goals\n\nThe sessions will move quickly with generous breaks, and we fully\nexpect your comments in the breakout sessions to inform our approach\nto developing our future. \n\nA plenary session will follow the breakout sessions, with the\nconference closing at 12.30pm on Saturday 8th April.\n\nA more detailed programme will be provided soon.\n\nYou will be provided with the zoom webinar link by Wednesday 6 April,\ntwo days ahead of the conference. \n\nCONFERENCE FEE:  We have a single registration fee for all Rotary\nmembers, whether you attend part or all of the conference.  We are\nkeeping this at cost, just to cover technical services to run the\nconference and gifts for speakers.  Donations to the nominated\ncharities for the Friday night session will be drawn from\nregistrations above costs, so we strongly encourage you to encourage\nother members to attend.  Rotaract members are enabled at half price.\n\nPARTNERS OF MEMBERS: There is no charge for partners (who are not\nmembers) to watch the Friday night session on the same device.\n\nPROSPECTIVE MEMBERS: Prospective members are welcome, please register\nunder the prospective member category and advise which District Rotary\nclub you are progressing through membership with.\n\nPlease note that as well as the general privacy statement for this\nEvents Pronto booking site, District 9940 also has its own Privacy\nStatement [https://rotary9940.org/privacy-policy].\n - jujuhag@gmail.com - https://www.eventspronto.co.nz/Rotary2022
