DESCRIPTION:_VACCINE PASSES ARE IN OPERATION AT OUR STUDIO: TO ATTEND THE CLASS\nYOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT YOUR VALID PASS FOR SCANNING ON\nARRIVAL AT YOUR CLASS._\n\nDates: 17 Feb - 7 April 2022\nSuitable for: Beginner to advanced\nTutor: Yasmin Davis\n\nTHE FOCUS OF THIS CLASS WILL BE ON SURFACE DECORATION TECHNIQUES\nRATHER THAN MAKING. If you are new to pottery, you will be guided\nthrough pottery basics, but the primary focus of the teaching will be\non the decorating. If you are mostly interested in learning to make\nobjects, we recommend you enrol in one of our handbuilding or wheel\nthrowing classes first.\n\nOver 8 weeks, you will learn a wide variety of techniques to decorate\nyour pottery including but not limited to the following:\n\n 	* Making stamps\n 	* Marbling effects with slip and underglaze\n 	* Plaster milds for making and decorating\n 	* Soft clay decorations and tricks - eg. shapes, imprints,\ninclusions of media, making test tiles\n 	* Mixing up your own bought powder glaze, tricks on how to yes it\nand incorporate WSP glazes\n 	* Agateware\n 	* Sgraffito\n 	* Monoprinting\n 	* Troubleshooting - broken pots, glaze runs, bare patches\n\nThe cost includes small amounts of stains. Firing and clay incur the\nusual extra fees depending on volume.\n\nBring:\n\nYou will need to supply your own dust mask – industrial quality if\npossible (it’s a good investment in your lung health anyway).\nPowdered glaze for mixing if you have one but we have some in the\nstudio for demonstration. Bucket (10L+) with watertight lid to mix\ninto. Silicon spatula.\n\n \n\nTERMS AND CONDITIONS\n\nCANCELLATION POLICY: The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves\nthe right cancel a class if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment\nnumbers, for reasons outside of our control. A full refund will be\ngiven if the class is cancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card\nfee. If a student cancels their enrolment within 72 hours of the\nfirst class starting, no refund will be given. If a student cancels\ntheir booking less than 7 days prior to the event a 50% administration\ncharge will be deducted from the refund.
