DESCRIPTION:A MEMBER-ONLY EVENT.\n\nIf you haven't been part of a raku firing before, they are fun,\ndramatic, and yield unpredictable but breathtaking results.\n\nGet involved with handling glowing things! Our raku expert, David,\nwill run this event providing our members with an opportunity to fire\na few items.\n\n \n\nBRING:\n\nBring bisque fired work that is thin and even. Small stuff survives\nwhile bigger things benefit from a good Raku clay.  Pieces under\n180mm. Raku glazes are labelled and in kiln room for use. Areas left\nunglazed will be blacks and greys. Glossy copper gives best results in\nits own (no glaze under or over). Dark colours don't show the crackle\nas well. Bigger, smooth areas are more likely to crackle.  Raku\nglazes will damage other kilns so glaze pieces to be stored in area\ndesignated by Steve. Some glazing can be done on the day but hopefully\nmost will be done before so it is dry and we can start firing straight\naway.\n\n \n\n5:30 kiln setup.\n\nBriefing and firing from ~ 6pm\n\nCOSTS:\n\nTo book, a non-refundable $6 booking fee is required which also covers\nyour Open Studio session for the evening.
