DESCRIPTION: 2nd May 2021 \n 10am-4pm \n   \n Trouble-shoot your wheel throwing hurdles and take your skills to the\nnext level in this one-day intermediate wheel throwing workshop with\nGinny Lane [https://www.woodnclay.com/]. Ginny is an experienced\nWaikato-based potter with a form and function focus in the making of\ndomestic ware. \n   \n This workshop is SUITABLE FOR POTTERS WITH SEVERAL YEARS OF WHEEL\nTHROWING EXPERIENCE who would like some help addressing specific\nthrowing problems.  \n   \n You will work on your own projects rather than throwing the same\npiece as part of an instructed lesson. Prior to the workshop, you will\nbe asked to complete a questionnaire regarding the issues you are\nexperiencing in your throwing work. You will bring along 2-4 samples\nof your work that illustrate areas you want to improve -  these can\nbe at any stage, from raw to bisqued to glaze fired etc.  \n   \n Please also bring along pre-wedged balls of your clay of choice to\nthrow on the day. This is helpful because some of the problems you are\nfacing may be specific to the handling of specific clay-types. You\nwill proceed to work on your own projects with the support of Ginny\nwho will work with you to improve your techniques. Ginny will also\nprovide demonstrations if people wish to see something specific.  \n   \n If you aren't sure about whether this workshop is right for your\nskill level, please call the office for a chat.  \n   \n Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappontment. \n   \n _The images below illustrate two common throwing problems. In each\nphoto the pot on the LH side shows the problem and the RH side pot\nshows the improvement in both form and function._ \n   \n [Two bowls cut in half. The bowl on the left illustrates bowl\nslumping, the one on the right shows the improvement in both form and\nfunction] \n Bowl Slumping \n   \n [The images show two pots cut in half.
