This\nis your chance.Sundays, 10am–1pm | 4 weeks, starting 23 August 2026\n\nTutored by the wonderful Sarah Steed, this taster course takes you\nfrom "what do I do with my hands" to centring, throwing, and trimming\nyour own pieces on the wheel — plus you'll learn how to glaze them\nready for the kiln. It's hands-on, it's a little bit messy, and it's\nhonestly one of the most satisfying skills you'll ever pick up.\n\nBy the end of four weeks you'll have the confidence (and clay-covered\nenthusiasm) to either dive into one of our longer wheel courses next\nterm, or bring your new skills along to Play with Clay for some\nself-directed throwing time.\n\nCost of clay and firing is additional to the course fee.\n\nSpaces are limited — get in quick to secure your spot on the wheel!\n\nYOUR TUTOR\nSarah Steed is a local professional artist with a broad background.\nHaving studied ceramics in the UK, Sarah went on to graduate from The\nNorwich School of Art with a BA hons Fine Arts Degree in sculpture.\nSarah has taught a variety of ceramic classes to both children and\nadults.\n\n-------------------------\n\nTERMS AND CONDITIONS\nThe Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right to cancel a\nclass if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons\noutside our control. A full refund will be given if the class is\ncancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels\ntheir enrolment within 72 hours of the first class starting, no refund\nwill be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days\nprior to the event, a 50% administration charge will be deducted from\nthe refund.
