DESCRIPTION:WE’RE EXCITED TO WELCOME AARON SCYTHE FOR THIS WORKSHOP, OFFERING A\nRARE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM ONE OF AOTEAROA’S LEADING\nCONTEMPORARY CERAMIC ARTISTS.\n\nThis intensive two-day workshop is a make‑together, wheel-focused\nexperience, centred on fast, intuitive throwing and developing form\nthrough repetition and momentum. Working alongside Aaron, you’ll\nexplore Japanese/Oribe-inspired forms including cups, pouring vessels,\nvases, and larger coil-assisted pieces.\n\nThe workshop combines demonstration with continuous making, with\nguidance and feedback as you work. The emphasis is firmly on throwing,\nform, and process — with minimal focus on decoration.\n\n-------------------------\n\nWHO IT’S FOR\n\nBest suited to potters with intermediate wheel skills who want to\nloosen up, increase output, and push their making in a focused,\nhigh-energy environment.\n\n-------------------------\n\nWHAT’S INCLUDED\n\n 	* Two full days of tuition with Aaron Scythe\n 	* 3 bags of clay provided\n 	* Use of studio equipment and facilities\n 	* Please note, firing is not included in this workshop\n 	* _Bring along a shared kai for lunch — a great chance to connect\nand chat with Aaron and others in the workshop._\n\n-------------------------\n\nABOUT AARON SCYTHE\n\nAaron Scythe is an internationally recognised ceramic artist with over\n30 years of experience. He spent 16 years working and exhibiting in\nJapan, deeply influenced by Mino and Oribe traditions, and has since\nexhibited widely across New Zealand and internationally. His work is\nheld in private collections around the world, and he is known for both\nhis distinctive forms and dynamic, hands-on teaching style.\n\n-------------------------\n\nTERMS AND CONDITIONS\n\nThe Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right to cancel a\nclass if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons\noutside of our control. A full refund will be given if the class is\ncancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels\ntheir enrolment within 72 hours of the first class starting, no refund\nwill be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days\nprior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from\nthe refund. Should a student cancel their enrolment any time prior to\nthe above a 20% administration fee will be deducted from the refund.\n\n_Please read the WSP code of conduct.
