DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY 30TH AND SUNDAY 31ST AUGUST 1.30 TO 5.30PM\n\nIn this workshop you will learn how the components of a teapot affect\nits aesthetics and function, and practise your skills making and\nassembling a wheel-thrown teapot of your own design.\n\nSkills covered will include throwing a cylinder, bellying, forming a\nshoulder and gallery or rim, throwing a variety of lid forms, throwing\na spout, pulling a handle, and assembling the teapot.\n\nExperience level: prior ability to centre and throw a 1kg cyclinder.\n\nStudents are encouraged to bring along images of teapots that inspire\nthem, and sketches of ideas they would like to make.\n\nWHAT TO BRING:\n- at lest 4kg of your favourite clay\n- your pottery tools\n- images and sketches as above\n\n-------------------------\n\nSUZY DUNSER\n\nSuzy fell in love with clay while at a summer camp in Connecticut,\nUSA. She came to NZ in 1995 and joined first the Titirangi Potters and\nthen the Auckland Studio Potters before moving to Paeroa and joining\nWSP in 2021.
