DESCRIPTION:_This workshop will take place over two 3-hour evening sessions:\n6pm - 9pm, Wednesday 2nd of October, and\n6pm - 9pm, Wednesday 9th of October_\n\nThis is a workshop for anyone who likes the idea of using clay that\nthey have dug themselves, but doesn’t know where to start. As well\nas learning through using samples of clay provided by your tutor, Mark\nTamura, you'll have the opportunity to bring in your own found\nclay and find out how to test and process it to see if it will work\nas a viable potting clay.\n\nMark is a wild/found clay enthusiast. His favourite thing about\nworking with wild clay is being able to give someone back a piece of\npottery that started its life as a piece of earth from a place that is\nspecial to them – something that can connect them with that place\nwhenever they use it. On his journey along this wild clay path, Mark\nhas found and used many local clay bodies, researching and testing as\nhe goes. \n\nIn this workshop Mark will show you how to:\n\n 	* Identify clay in the wild\n 	* Undertake some basic field-testing\n 	* Process wild clay using the wet processing method\n 	* Blend clay to adjust its properties\n 	* Test fire clay\n\nYour course fee covers:\n\n 	* Your tutor's time and knowledge\n 	* The facilities at the Waikato Society of Potters\n 	* Use of the tools and equipment\n 	* Small amounts of additional clay if needed for blending with your\nwild clay\n 	* Firing of any test bars and small pieces you make with your wild\nclay samples\n\n \n\n_TERMS AND CONDITIONS_\n\n_The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right to cancel a\nclass if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons\noutside of our control. A full refund will be given if the class is\ncancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels\ntheir enrolment within 72 hours of the first class starting, no refund\nwill be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days\nprior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from\nthe refund.
