DESCRIPTION:Join Yasmin Davis to create your potter's mark stamp, or any other\nsmall texture stamps you have in mind!\n\nIn this workshop, you will learn to make small plaster slabs, then\ncarve into them with a specialised tool to create small and intricate\nstamps. Once your design is finalised, you will use porcelain clay to\nmake a negative impression. The porcelain clay then gets bisque fired\nand becomes your Maker's Mark stamp!\n\nThis is the perfect method for creating small, detailed stamps that\nyou can use over and over. You can keep the plaster slab as a master\ntoo, meaning you can use it to create more stamps, should you lose or\nbreak them.\n\nYou can also carve a bigger design to get more detail into your\nstamp, then make a porcelain impression that is fired, then stamped\nagain, then fired again, then stamped again... Each time you stamp and\nfire, your design gets smaller with the clay shrinkage! So, you can\nmake a tiny stamp with lots of detail, or have multiple stamps of the\nsame design in different sizes.\n\nAll materials and tools you need for this workshop are included in the\nenrolment fee:\n\n 	* Plaster of Paris\n 	* A carving tool\n 	* Porcelain clay\n 	* Containers for making the plaster slabs\n 	* Bisque firing of stamps created at the workshop\n\nJust bring your ideas and a pencil and paper.\n\nYOUR TUTOR\n\nYasmin is a warm and welcoming tutor, who has an incredible wealth of\nknowledge in all areas of ceramics and shares her skills generously.\nShe is an exhibiting ceramics artist and also teaches classes at a\nDiploma level, you will be sure you benefit from her expertise.\n\n_TERMS AND CONDITIONS_\n\n_The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right to cancel a\nclass if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons\noutside of our control.
