This workshop sold out lickety-split last year, so we're thrilled to be able to offer another workshop with the very excellent, Fiona Tunnicliffe!
Saturday 18th AND Sunday 19th April, 10am to 4pm
In this workshop you will learn the basics of animal anatomy, how to break down forms and successfully build what you see. It is geared to learning some construction skills that will extend and be useful in your usual practice.
It is suitable for any level of experience.
The price for this workshop includes:
- 1 x bag of clay
- a wire brush
- a printer's brayer
- bisque & cone 6 firings for one piece you make in the workshop
What to bring:
- Animal photos with details of heads and feet.
NB: Cartoons and copies of other people's work are not suitable.
- Pencil, paper/notebook
- A kai to share on both days, if you're able to
Fiona Tunnicliffe is an award-winning ceramic artist who has been a full-time potter for over 30 years, known for her animal-inspired sculptures. Her work often features animals as a starting point, with each piece possessing a unique personality enhanced by her use of textures, patterns, and relief work. She is widely collected and exhibits her work in galleries throughout New Zealand.

The Waikato Society of Potters (WSP) reserves the right to cancel a workshop if it fails to achieve minimum enrolment numbers, for reasons outside our control. A full refund will be given if the class is cancelled by the WSP less a 5% credit card fee. If a student cancels their enrolment within 72 hours of the workshop starting, no refund will be given. If a student cancels their booking less than 7 days prior to the event a 50% administration charge will be deducted from the refund. Should a student cancel their enrolment any time prior to the above a 20% administration fee will be deducted from the refund.
WSP does not provide make up sessions or credits for workshops that you have missed due to your personal circumstances.less
