Volunteers | tūao give their unpaid time and skills to communities and causes they believe in. This volunteering action needs to be nurtured and enabled. The Volunteering New Zealand Guidelines are based on what volunteers need and offer easy steps for you to meet their needs. Seven practice areas, based on the volunteering life-cycle journey have been identified.
This half-day session will take you through the process including key principles. We describe what good volunteer practice looks like and what volunteers need. Each practice area reflects on “what good looks like”, and gives information and resources for each one.
The practice areas are:
- Engaging and recruiting volunteers
- Welcoming and onboarding
- Volunteer support, leadership and management
- Training and growing volunteers
- Feedback and recognition
- Celebrating volunteer impact
- Exiting volunteers
Every attendee will receive a workbook and a copy of the Best Practice Guidelines.less
