Where	Huria Marae, Kaponga Street, Brookfield, Tauranga

We are pleased to offer you another opportunity to experience a Cultural Induction at Huria Marae. It is for those who have not stepped onto a marae before or who have limited experience of a marae and are interested in finding out more about our local history and tikanga in general.

9:00am: Gather outside the Marae

9:15am: Karanga on to the atea / tikanga Māori

Including:

Meet and greet with our hosts - hongi
Hear some of the history and find out all about the Huria Marae
History of Mana Whenua
Pepeha
Waiata
Tikanga o te Marae

10:30am: Light refreshments

11:00am: Return to Wharenui for Tikanga Protocols and Cultural Capability

12.30pm Finish

Anyone that registers will be provided with an Induction package prior to the day.

Local Community Groups $10.00
Subsidised tickets available for local community organisations.

Other organisations $40.00
For those not eligible for a subsidised ticket including community organisations outside of WBOP and Tauranga, for profit organisations and local government. Limited spaces available, the remainder are reserved for local community groups.
