This 2-day workshop is an opportunity to master the art of lidded vessels on the wheel with Duncan Shearer.

The topics covered during the workshop include: cylinder throwing, gallery forming, lid design and the different methods to throw them, including off the hump, trimming and fitting lids, additions like handles or lugs. The workshop will be a combination of demonstrations and you having a go on the wheel trying out the different demonstrated techniques.

Duncan Shearer is a studio potter based at Rahu Road Pottery studio and gallery. With a Bachelors in 3D design majoring in ceramics, he is an experienced studio potter and ceramics teacher. He has been Co-Director of the Auckland Studio Potters, is a former Manager and life member of Waikato Society of Potters and has a wealth of knowledge in the whole ceramics process.less
