We are firing up the Phoenix with Ginny Lane as firemaster! Wood firing is a whole experience, much more exciting that simply dropping your work of on our shelves here and collecting the finished product a week or two later. You get involved in the whole process, learn heaps, bond over hot drinks and stoking of the fire...

Bookings are open to WSP members only.

Booking requires you to participate on at least 2 of the 3 days to help with the preparation, packing and firing of the kiln. You must also have at a minimum the equivalent of 1 banana box of work to be fired in order to ensure a full kiln. You are of course invited to bring along more and what gets in, gets in.

Friday 5th November: prep shelves and kiln 

Saturday 6th November: packing kiln

Sunday 7th November: firing kiln

The total cost for this wood firing is $525. A deposit of $30 by every team member (10 people max) must be paid in advance to secure their space in the firing. The balance of the fee ($225) is to be distributed throughout the members based on how much space they have in the kiln. The fire master is in charge of distributing the balance between the team is to be paid at the end of the loading day, before firing.

Cost includes the firemaster's fee, glaze materials, wood, contribution to kiln maintenance, studio use, and admin.less
